I have read some of his adult romances but this YA novel was just. JR Gray is one of those authors that can totally pull you in and make you fall head over heels for his literary characters. That’s mostly true of any JR Gray book and that’s what keeps me coming back for more. I cried and lamented and laughed and rejoiced. Because if we can’t live our truth, is it truly living? Here begins a story of hate, homophobia, prejudice, ignorance, love, acceptance, understanding, and education. And that was more than DJ had and if that was all he’d ever have with DJ, that could be enough. Sebastian, though an outlier, he did have friends. Sebastian who had crushed on Darcy their entire junior year. Alone until Sebastian sits down with him for lunch.
